Cosmos Destination

Culturespaces is partnered with the Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES) to present “Destination Cosmos”, an original creation for the Atelier des Lumières.

This exhibition plunges you into a maze of stars, planets, nebulae and supernovae. A unique journey that begins in the heart of the Guyanese rainforest and ends at the edge of the universe. After leaving the earth, the visitor is invited to cross the Martian canyons alongside the rovers, dive into the heart of Jupiter, fly over the rings of Saturn and then go beyond the borders of our solar system to explore the immensity of our universe. Immersed within images and music, he gets carried in an unforgettable space adventure.

“Destination Cosmos” start in the obscurity. A sky full of stars fills the space, lines draw the constellations. Once the lines appear, the mythological figures whose names they bear reveal themselves. This is followed by a succession of ancient sites, built by the pioneering civilizations of astronomy, and then followed by illustrations related to the study of stars from different eras and peoples.
