The Last Sentinels: Heroes, from near and far

A forty-minute journey to the heart of the world’s last indigenous cultures and landscapes, “The Last Sentinels” celebrates the diversity of the people living in harmony with nature.

By organizing this immersive exhibition, Culturespaces is financially supporting the Jimmy Nelson Foundation, which works to bring the world’s peoples together to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of humanity.

Immerged in sound and images, visitors are led to think about the need to protect the ecosystems that offer us their beauty. Using images and films from Jimmy Nelson’s travels, the exhibition reveals the world’s last indigenous peoples, photographed on five continents.

Visitors can see stunning portraits of people from Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Pacific… guardians of a culture captured by Nelson’s camera.

Through the portraits and landscapes, visitors discover cultural rituals and traductions to the rhythm of a soundtrack inspired by musical compositions from Africa, Siberia, India, South America and Aboriginal Australia. This creation invites to discover all the splendor of this diverse world that gives so much to discover. “The Last Sentinels” offers a timeless journey that is aesthetic, emotional and deeply human.
